March Madness Rocks
I love march madness because it is a great equalizer. Despite the rankings, college basketball is very hard to predict. And that is what makes it great. It is passionate and exciting and you know there are going to be upsets. And no person, no matter how studied, can predict those upsets. Which means that the rest of us have just as much chance. Even if this is the only time of year that you pay attention, you have a chance. And it is a time that people can relate to each other on a different level. Instead of the regular grind (where's your hall pass, why weren't you at the meeting, where's your assignment) we can talk trash about our brackets.
Of course the radio said that thousand of working hours are lost during this period. And during the first week last week, I couldn't get senior boys to pay attention to anything. They can check the scores on their dang cell phones.
Ahh - who cares. They had to work really hard on a paper for me. And people need a break.

My bracket was pretty much a joke especially after Duke and UConn lost. Oh well, it's still more exciting than the pros. I'll take college ball any day! Did you know Karl Rove went to George Mason? I was rooting for them, but now I'm not so sure...
